Editorial policy
Our aim is to make cultural connections interesting without making them tidier than they are. We check claims, explain our reasoning and make changes when the record needs it.
Accuracy and context
We review factual claims against relevant material and take care with dates, names, origins and attribution. Where accounts differ or evidence is limited, we say so rather than presenting one interpretation as settled. Cultural practices vary within communities and change over time; we avoid implying that one example represents everyone.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for relevance, clarity and accuracy. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions, and we do not promise favourable coverage in return for support.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page with the article subject and the detail in question. We assess the information and correct substantive errors clearly; smaller wording changes may be made without a separate notice.
Partners and labels
Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly where it appears. Partner placements are marked so readers can distinguish them from editorial work.
Exchange changes what it carries
When something travels, it rarely arrives untouched. We look at the people, places and choices that shape what gets shared and what it comes to mean.
